Join Families for a Livable Climate, Missoula County Sustainability, Free Cycles, and Pedal Missoula on Saturday, September 25, for a family friendly Climate Protector Ride from Silver Park to Caras Park and the Clean Energy Expo!

Gather at Silver Park (near the Pavilion) at 9 a.m. We plan to arrive at the Clean Energy Expo at Caras at 10 a.m. We ask that you ride with your family and friend group, and practice Covid safety (wear a mask, bring your hand sanitizer). The bike ride is family friendly and will take place entirely on a protected bike lane - all abilities and speeds are welcome!

Participants will receive a family climate action list for steps to take after the ride.
Kids, and adults alike, might want to wear a superhero cape, bright costume, and/or fly a banner or sign proclaiming your commitment to protecting our Earth, and why! (And don’t forget your mask!)

Questions? Contact Winona Bateman at director@livableclimate.org or Caroline Lauer at clauer@missoulacounty.us.

Please visit Engage Missoula, the City's online engagement platform to provide ideas and input to key design projects that impact our City and transportation network. Public comments are important to submit now, as projects could move quickly.

Free Cycles and MIST are advovating for protected bike lanes and a four to three lane conversion on Higgins Avenue.

Free Cycles and MIST are advocating for protected bike lanes on Front and Main Streets.

Fewer lanes for cars, protected bike lanes, good pedestrian crossings, excellent transit, and slower/smoother car flow typically means a more livable community, a more equitable transport system, better business, and meaningful progress to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

We also offer free helmets here at Free Cycles. These helmets tend to be lightly used and in good condition. We even have some new helmets in stock donated generously by St. Pat’s Brain Injury Prevention Program, who has helped us give 100 helmets to community members in need since May. Come by Wed. - Sat. from 10am to 6pm to check our selection, or get in touch with @braininjuryallianceofmt to keep your young ones safe while riding!
