Our group of seven students has been working for the last 5-6 months workshopping and designing a program that seeks to help in reintegration for previously incarcerated youths that are reentering back into general society. We've seen from data that we've gathered, and through speaking with local community members and experts that unfortunately for many of these individuals, they go back into the world lacking core social and key essential skills that many of us take for granted. As part of our initiative, we are holding a series of workshops that help both with soft and hard skills — such as resume writing or interview etiquette. With these programs we strive to provide not just useful information and services that will help them better reintegrate into the working world, but we also want to foster an environment that brings them together as a community, as we've seen that many times these youth lack a feeling of comfort in society or community amongst peers.
