Band Bios:
No Fancy: After an impressive 2016 debut album, a stellar 2017 single, and an “adult hiatus,” basement rockers No Fancy (Jordan Meyer-Morey, James Riach, Brady Schwertfeger, Llwyn Clark-Gaynor) return from retirement with new music, new faces, but the same lease on life—let’s just rock, nothing fancy.
Motorhome: Motorhome features a twin guitar attack, layered synths and vocal harmonies in service of a sound that is at once modern and that fits nicely between early 90's grunge and mid 90's indie ROCK. The Missoula quintet has developed a tour de force. The band has an album's worth of material ready to record. Many of these songs will be played Saturday.
Hairspray Queen: Hairspray Queen is made of local musicians Kateena Bell (vocals), Dead Ed (bass), Patrick Kirkley (drums) and Gavin McCourt (guitar) who have worked together to dedicate a full set to Seattle rock legends Nirvana. They cover songs from throughout Nirvana’s catalogue and aim to lovingly perform the artistry, honesty and energy of Kurt, Krist and Dave’s incredible sound.
-- More about social gatherings and Free Cycles programs:
Music and social gatherings are important for healthy community, we at Free Cycles believe. And we have good community space to share. The automobile has taken over the streets and plazas, so community spaces are vital, we think, especially for the mental health of the community.
Gatherings also bring people into the community bicycle shop and introduce people to our services, like 'Build a Bike' and 'Open Shop'.
Any one can build a free bike after doing 90 minutes of service, and we assist in the whole process. For bikes for kids 10 years of age and younger, no service is required. Open Shop provides space, tools and help for any one to come fix their own bike for free. These are donation based services. Shows and benefits help keep the services going strong.
