As we head into 2011, it's a time for renewal.  We are getting the Pedal Power Warehouse ready for design and production of all things cycled.  Bike trailers, 3 and 4 wheel vehicles, Long Johns, and even a pedal bus are in the works.

We have had lots of great events lately: bike rides, parades, presentations and group work sessions.  The Free Cycles shop is shifting into winter hours- 2-6pm Monday to Thursday, and we keep Saturdays at 11-3pm. 

Such an exciting time in Missoula, with Sustainable Transportation and all the activity.  Now that street and trail construction has about wrapped up- new bike lanes, cycle tracks, roundabouts, sidewalks and lighting- we turn our focus to some community events.

Heading into Fall 2010, we see some great projects on the ground in Missoula.  N. Higgins has changed from 4 lanes to 3 lanes, gaining cycle tracks and better pedestrian crossings.

July, 2010:  A good crop of sustainable transportation projects is underway in Missoula right now.  N. Higgins is going from 4 lanes to 3, with cycle tracks included and large pedestrian areas

As we head into the 2010 construction season for streets and trails, there are some great opportunities for more sustainable transportation in Missoula.

Ever wonder how road projects are decided on and put into action?  While big planning documents are certainly important, a lot of the time it is the fall and winter before the next construction season that key decisions are made regarding what a road is going to look like.
