MIST, the Missoula Institute for Sustainable Transportation,  is a citizen-based non-profit organization based in Missoula, Montana. We work mainly on local and regional  issues, with an eye on international development. Our strength is in our volunteers, interns, working groups and community projects.

To guide our day to day work, we have crafted a community vision:

Imagine: Active walking and cycling cultures; extensive transit systems that run on renewable energy; bicycle station and car share options; safe and flowing vehicle movement; networks of greenway corridors that connect people and open space; an awareness and understanding of transportation issues and impacts.

MIST includes the Free Cycles Community Bicycle Program
